Living With The Parents May Be This Buyer’s Best Option

Q. I’m looking to buy my first home but want no maintenance. What options do I have other than a condo?

A. If you want no maintenance, you should either live at home with your parents or rent. Owning a home, townhome or condo comes with maintenance. Condominiums and townhomes do have less exterior maintenance but you are still responsible for the interior. And even some only cover certain exterior repairs such as roofs and siding, with the condo owner being responsible for windows and doors. So before you buy, please read the condo documents for your community to make sure you know what your obligations are. Good luck.
